Our next Confirmation meeting is March 29, 2020. Watch this video to get a glimpse of what the lesson will cover. Below you will find a few links that offer helpful reading material for you to look through as you continue to ask questions, seek Truth, and learn to love and live our faith! As always, be sure to bring a hard copy of your reflection with you to our last session! See you in O'Donnell Hall at 3:20pm for check in! Our lesson starts at 3:30pm and we will end after 5pm Mass at around 6pm! THINGS TO BRING TO NEXT CLASS: 1. Service form for the 5 required Parish Service Hours- Service hours are due on May 31st 2. Service form for the required Parish Service Encounter Project - This encounter is due May 31st 3. Know who you want as your Sponsor for Confirmation - I will send an email with more information 4. If you have not given copies of your Baptism and First Communion certificates, please be sure to turn those in. Assignments:Have you ever wondered what the Church means when we profess that we believe in ‘the communion of saints’? Did you know there are more saints than those canonized by the Church? Did you know that you’re one of them? This month we will explore how we are united with those who have gone before us as we seek holiness. There is NO video for this lesson. However, please read the assigned sections in the YouCat, read the additional article, respond to the Parent and Teen reflection prompts and take the survey. Remember to have this all completed by next Sealed. 1 Session 7, Sunday March 8, 2020 in O'Donnell Hall at 3:30pm. Deacon Dick Williams will be our guest speaker. Please arrive ten minutes early so that we can begin our lesson on time! TAKE THE SURVEY!This month, Candidates will continue their journey of exploring the Mass. Candidates will explore teachings about the true presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. Jesus is the source and summit of our faith. The moment we recognize Jesus’ true presence, we ourselves can truly be present as we worship each Sunday. We have a very special teaching Mass that Monsignor Barry will guide us through class on January 12th. So please be sure to complete the readings and reflections below in preparation for that special Mass! Please watch the video, read the assigned sections in the YouCat, read the additional article, and complete the Teen and Parent Reflection and bring a hard copy to class. Remember to have this all completed on the Saturday before the next SEALED. session, Sunday January 12, 2020 in St. Kateri at 3:30pm. Please show up at 10 minutes early for check in and Mass preparation. Dinner and small groups will take place after Mass. Assignments:This month, Candidates will begin their journey of exploring the Mass. The first lesson about the Mass covers the first main part of the Liturgy, the Liturgy of the Word. Sacred Scripture informs our teachings and practice. The more we know about the Mass, the more engaged we will be as we worship together each Sunday. This mystery is central to our faith. They will begin to recognize that Jesus struggled, felt pain, felt lonely, had doubts, had fear, and all at once redeems and saves us from all those things. We ask that you watch the video by clicking the picture above, read the assigned YouCat readings, respond to the parent and teen reflection and be sure to bring a typed out copy to your Core member at the next meeting. Hello! Welcome to the online component for our Confirmation program! We ask that you watch the video above, read the assigned YouCat questions, respond to the parent and teen reflection, and bring a printed version of the response to your Core member to next session. Remember to have this all completed by the next Sealed. 1 Session 2 on Sunday, October 13, 2019 in O'Donnell Hall at 3:30pm. Come 10 minutes early to socialize, get snacks, and check in! This month, Candidates will explore Catholic teaching about the relationship between God and man. Through this, we come to understand that we can draw close to God. One of our teen leaders will speak to the class about his own journey to know God, love God, and serve Him. Assignments:
Teens of Year 1 Confirmation will join us for our first SEALED. class on September 15 at 2pm in O'Donnell Hall. Class ends at 3:00pm. This is the only meeting where the 5pm Mass is not included in the class session. Online prep work and parent and teen reflections are not required for this first class. Online work will begin with our second class. Please take special note that the 5pm Mass is included in all other SEALED. classes, beginning in October. Teens are encouraged to actively participate in our Masses. If you are interested in becoming a teen lector, please email to let know so we can include you in upcoming trainings. On February 10, 2019, International speaker, author, and musician Emily Wilson and national speaker and musician Andrew Laubacher (ALOB) will join us to speak to Year 1 and Year 2 SEALED. candidates about the Theology of the Body, with a specific focus on message about the universal desire for authentic love and relationships.
We will gather all SEALED. 1 & 2 girls to listen to Emily Wilson speak in O'Donnell Hall. Emily is a full-time traveling speaker, singer/songwriter, author, and worship leader from Southern California. She has spoken and played music at dozens of national and international youth and young adult events in two dozen states and numerous countries, including diocesan, parish, and school events, as well as Life Teen conferences, Steubenville conferences, the National Catholic Youth Conference, and the Australian and Swiss Catholic Youth Festivals. Andrew Laubacher (ALOB) is a full-time speaker and musician from Ventura, California and has traveled around the country speaking and sharing his faith through music. He powerfully shares his story of encountering authentic love in God in such a powerful way that he was moved to change so much about how he lived his life. He will address what it takes for young men to form healthy relationships rooted in love. All SEALED. 1 & 2 boys will listen to ALOB speak in St. Kateri room.
